Paper as the starting point, not a compromise

Sustainability starts with the choice of material. Paper and carton are recyclable and give a natural look without plastic. Alongside that we work on lowering the footprint of production itself.

Sustainable production is the standard

Recyclable material

Paper and carton as the basis, from recycled fibres wherever possible.

Lower CO₂ footprint

LED lighting, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and more efficient machines.

Less plastic

A natural look without plastic, from label to outer box.

The biggest gain sits before the press

Which paper or carton you choose determines the largest part of a pack’s footprint. That is why every conversation about sustainability starts with the material and not with the machine.

Where we can, we work with recycled fibres. Where that is not possible, for instance in direct contact with foodstuffs, we look for the lightest material that can do the job.

Lean Six Sigma
The contemporary, globally applied method for working more carefully on process improvement, efficiency and customer satisfaction. To introduce this sustainable strategy successfully and systematically, Royal Hoitsema Labels works together with the University of Groningen and various partners in the Netherlands and abroad.

FSC
We work with FSC-certified paper and board as standard. This means the forest is managed sustainably and can therefore recover over the long term.

BRC
BRC (British Retail Consortium) originated in the United Kingdom. This quality certificate was initially required by retailers. Today the BRC Global Standards stand for safeguarding product safety and quality, for the food industry and its (packaging) suppliers.
